Our love and concern for our neighbours means that during the COVID-19 pandemic, sadly, there will not be public Holy Week ceremonies in the Archdiocese of Toronto this year. This is a distressing time for the faithful, but this hardship is necessary for ensuring the common good of our community.

However, in these unusual times, there are still a number of ways that the faithful can prayerfully unite themselves through the sacred ceremonies of Holy Week.

All Holy Week ceremonies will be livestreamed from St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica on its website and Facebook page. All those videos will be archived for later viewing. The cathedral’s Holy Week schedule is as follows:

Palm Sunday – Sunday, April 5, 2020
Liturgy will begin at 10 a.m.

The Mass of the Chrism – Tuesday, April 7, 2020
Mass will begin at 10 a.m.

The Mass of the Lord’s Supper – Thursday April 9, 2020

Good Friday – Friday, April 10, 2020

We continue to pray for all our brothers and sisters during this most sacred time in the Christian calendar.
